Design Intent & Architectural Monograph
Stepped down a steep 45-degree coastal bluff, Villa Marittima respects the topography by fracturing its mass into terraced stone pavilions connected by open-air colonnades and infinity water bodies.
Local limestone quarried within 20km was dressed by traditional stonemasons to form the cyclopean retaining walls, creating an organic dialogue between geological bedrock and refined architecture. Cantilevered pergolas crafted from marine-grade teak filter the strong Mediterranean sun, casting dynamic geometric shadows across travertine terraces.
The lower level contains a subterranean wine cellar and wellness sanctuary carved directly into the living sea cliff, cooled naturally by the thermal stability of the rock formation.
